60 minute massage sessions are used to massage the entire body’s muscles. Typical massage techniques include but are not limited to effleurage (stroking); petrissage (muscles are lightly grabbed and lifted); friction (thumbs and fingertips work in deep circles into the thickest part of muscles); tapotement (chopping, beating, and tapping strokes); and vibration (fingers are pressed or flattened firmly on a muscle, then the area is shaken rapidly for a few seconds).

This 60 minute massage session is similar to the 60 minute Basic Massage using the same massage techniques with an added benefit of Hot Stone Therapy. The premise behind hot stone massage therapy is that the direct heat of the stones relaxes muscles, allowing the therapist access to their deeper muscle layers. Combining hot stone protocols with a full body massage provides a very healing and effective experience. The hot stones also expand blood vessels, which encourages blood flow throughout the body. The hot stones have a sedative effect that can relieve chronic pain, reduce stress and promote deep relaxation.

This 60 minute massage session is similar to the 60 minute Hot Stone Massage using the same massage techniques with an added benefit of Paraffin Therapy.Paraffin Therapy consists of dipping the hands and feet into warm liquid wax. When the hands and feet are extracted from the liquid wax, the wax hardens. The hardened wax works as an insulator, sealing in the heat from the wax, as well as the heat generated from the body. The heat encapsulated by the wax, can relax sore muscles, and tendons, reduce inflammation, and promote circulation in achy joints and connective tissues.
In addition to its pain relieving qualities, paraffin treatments have beauty benefits. Paraffin Therapy sooth and moisturize the skin, making the treatments beneficial for overworked hands and feet. The bath opens up pores allowing the wax to coat the skin in a way that a cream is unable to, resulting in the immediate benefit of softer, smoother hands and feet; and unlike creams that wash away, the wax bath allows moisture to penetrate the skin, and seals it in, so the moisturizing benefits last.
